Distributor Dazzle is ‘Serious' about shorts films

Dazzle will be screening a number of short films at the ‘Serious About Shorts 2004’ Season, which will take place tonight (April 22) at the Curzon Soho in London.
The London-based short film distribution label have an impressively diverse catalogue of handpicked, award-winning UK and international titles and tonight’s selection of films is an innovative and exciting range.
The shorts which will be screened at the event tonight, include: Martin Pickle’s surrealist film, ‘The Commuter’, about an office-worker, who shaves his face off every morning; 2003 winner, ‘Le Cheval’, about a man who wants to be a horse, and ‘The Silent Treatment’, Peter Lydon’s cautionary tale about the morning after the night before.
The Dazzle short film distribution label was set up by the Short Film Bureau’s former Co-Head of Film Sales and Acquisitions, Dawn Sharpless, and launched at the Edinburgh International Film Festival last year, where Dazzle, partnered with Kodak Vision, sponsored the ‘Best British Short Film Award 2003’.
At Clermont-Ferrand this year, Dazzle kicked off the British short film industry market screenings with digital film maestros onedotzero and production company Stink, screening a selection of titles from the 2003/2004 catalogue, including the exciting directorial debut, ‘Perfect’, from internationally renowned London-based photographer Rankin, Swedish commercials director, Misko Massanyi’s debut ‘Evidence’ and the wonderfully hilarious ‘How To Tell When A Relationship Is Over’ by BBC comedy writer, Tony Roche. These shorts will also all be screened at tonight’s event.
Tickets for ‘Serious About Shorts’ are £5. For bookings, please contact the Curzon Soho box office on: 0207 734 2255 or book online at www.curzonsoho.com
