Troy English And Chris Lennon From Ross Appointed SMPTE Governors

Following recent elections, Ross Video CTO Troy English and Chris Lennon, Director, Standards Strategy have been appointed as regional Governors of Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
Troy will serve as Governor for the Canada region, and Chris will serve as Governor for the Western USA region. Both appointments begin on 01 January 2022 and last for two years.

Ross has been a strong supporter of SMPTE for many years, and both new Governors are very pleased to have been elected. "Ross is a company with engineering at its heart, and so we've always enjoyed working with SMPTE and contributing to their work around standards and engineering excellence," noted Troy English. "The last two years have obviously challenged our industry greatly and have called for an acceleration in the development of innovate solutions. I’m looking forward to working with SMPTE and my fellow Governors to explore how we can keep driving this industry forward."

Chris Lennon said: "It's a real honor to be able to serve the members of SMPTE’s Western US Region as their new Governor. SMPTE is one of our industry’s pre-eminent organizations, not only in technical standards, but also education and networking. I've enjoyed being an active participant in everything SMPTE has to offer for many years. Helping to shape the future of this great organization is a duty I don’t take lightly, and I'm really looking forward to helping the Society forge ahead in the coming years."
