JVC DEMONSTRATE STOP MOTION AT IBC 2001

THE CONSORTIUM of Gentlemen (COG), producers of high quality stop-motion animation, have used the JVC KY-F70BU new high resolution stills camera to shoot a 30 second commercial which was shown on the JVC stand at the International Broadcast Convention (IBC) last month.
‘Pettiville’, which is set in a small French town, features puppets Inspector Lapin, Belle Renard and Monsieur Chat. COG produced a pilot programme and presented it at the major animation festival, Cartoon Forum.
Previous credits include PB Bear and Friends for Dorling Kindersley, who later sold the series to Nickelodeon UK and Channel Five, and the award winning Yoho Ahoy (Banff 2001 best animation) for the BBC.
COG has put together a 30 second commercial advertising the new KY - F70BU which was also filmed using the KY-F70BU.
COG first started working with JVC on the pre-school television series, PB Bear and Friends back in 1996. Producer for COG Julian Roberts said: "Instead of shooting on film or tape, then the standard industry formats, we decided to shoot straight on to hard disk. We needed appropriate cameras and chose the JVC KY-F32 complete with Fujinon broadcast quality zoom lenses. We were so impressed with this shooting system that when we moved on to our next television series, Yoho Ahoy for the BBC, we bought two more JVC KY-32 cameras."
