3D IMAGING PRESENTATIONS TO BE HELD IN EDINBURGH

THE Canadian High Commission, together with Arius3D, are inviting members of the public to presentations being held at Edinburgh College of Art on November 6, 2001.
The free presentations will describe how 3-D imaging technology can make organisations more efficient and productive, as well as drive down costs and open up new revenue opportunities.
With the recent advances in technology it is now possible to represent the real world more accurately and realistically than ever before. Two different seminars will explore some of the latest digital technology for representing the 3-D world. The morning session will relate 3-D imaging to museums, heritage and cultural organisations and in the afternoon applied to the general design and industrial sectors.
The core technology being presented will be from Arius3D, which originated in the laboratories of the Canadian National Research Council, for simulation of the Canadarm on the Space Shuttle and nuclear reactor simulations. However, Arius3D have identified a huge range of unrelated applications which can benefit by their technology. Other presenters will describe related applications of 3-D imaging technology.
