CP Communications To Demonstrate Mobile Viewpoint's IQSP At NAB 2020

CP Communications will demonstrate Mobile Viewpoint's IQ Sports Producer (IQSP), a new family of automated live sports production systems, at the 2020 NAB Show.

Designed for single-operator use and remote productions, IQSP reduces the complexity and cost of delivering live and on-demand sports, and opens up a range of lower league, training sessions and university productions where it was previously too costly to produce.

Mobile Viewpoint developed IQ Sports Producer to easily capture, stream and re-publish sports events with ease, and also gives players and coaches an affordable solution for recording practices and game footage. Content producers can use IQSP systems to support up to three 180-degree panoramic 4x4K cameras to capture on-field action. The output can be AI-based to follow the action, including automated zooming and game tracking technology.

IQSP supports three additional virtual streams that can be defined within the system to follow the action of choice. This unique architecture, which captures the entire field of play with very high resolution, creates a viewing experience similar to a professional set-up. Users can drag and drop varied fields of view into the image, and add overlays including scoreboard content (clock and score), sideline and goal views, instant replay content, and automatic summaries and highlights. Operators can select and analyze other streams from the field of play, during and after the event.

CP Communications is the exclusive distributor of Mobile Viewpoint solutions in the United States, and will demonstrate the features and value of IQSP for automated remote and at-home sports production in the Mobile Viewpoint booth (SU6110).

Mobile Viewpoint's LinkMatrix is the central platform for managing IQSP productions from remote locations. Its web-based dashboard provides remote control and monitoring of all cameras and outputs, plus management and monitoring of live streams. IQSP systems support insertion of logos, advertising, and broadcast-quality graphics to create a true live event production experience.

Both IQSP models – IQSP Pro and IQSP Plus – are built around a 2RU Mobile Viewpoint server with IQSP software, ten bonded 4G IP connections for reliable content delivery, and AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 compression for broadcast-quality streams.

Designed for broadcast and web streaming with real-time highlight clipping, IQSP Pro features a Mobile Viewpoint IQ-xCAM four-lens panoramic camera system that shoots 4K at 60fps. Housed in a ruggedized, IP66-rated enclosure, it offers a F2.2 aperture with 5mm focal length, plus interchangeable lenses and a choice of central camera. The IQ-xCAM's integrated AI technology automatically follows the action and tracks players, while its de-warping and stitching technology provides a natural-looking, corrected image for viewers along with user-defined virtual camera outputs.

Also included is Mobile Viewpoint's Clipper application, which integrates with the LinkMatrix dashboard and makes it easy to edit and share game highlights. With Clipper, the operator can select and edit key moments in real time from a live stream, then post them to social media. Other features include automated game summary generation, subtitles, commentary, and league scoreboards.

IQSP Plus is a more streamlined version of the system for live sports streaming to the web. Housed in an IP67-rated enclosure for reliable operation in poor weather conditions, its panoramic camera uses four CMOS sensors and four 4mm fixed lenses to capture the action in 4K resolution at 30 fps. The camera also includes four IR LEDs to provide up to 66 feet of night vision. Options include the Clipper app, as well as scoreboard, subtitles, commentary, and game summary capabilities.
