VITESSE OFFER TECHNICAL PRESENTATION

VITESSE, leading supplier of communications components, have announced Dr. Steve Sheafor, vice president of NPU technology, will be delivering a technical presentation detailing the architectural alternatives available to networking OEMs when considering 10Gb/s Network Processors at the Network Processor Conference on October 24, 2001, at Parkside Hall in San Jose, California.
The Vitesse presentation highlights the architectural challenges in designing a 10Gb/s network processor and the technical merits of parallel architectures using General Purpose RISC processors vs. other architectural alternatives. As part of the presentation, Sheafor will highlight the high-level features and performance characteristics of Vitesse's forthcoming IQ10GS family of network processors, demonstrating the company's expertise within the network processing industry.
The IQ10GS family of network processors is targeted at complex IP applications requiring 10GbE or OC-192 performance, as well as those requiring high-density Gigabit Ethernet or multiple OC-48 configurations, such as multi-service switches and routers built by network system OEMs.
