IBC 2002 TO REFOCUS ON CREATIVE PRODUCTION

IBC organisers are refocusing their commitment to the production and creative community by building on the successful Producers Briefings and Conference Sessions.
IBC President John Wilson said: "After a thorough review of all our activities at IBC2001 we are very happy to reaffirm that one of our key strategic goals is to draw more Producers and Content creators to IBC. For many years we have recognised the pivotal role of producers in the electronic media marketplace. Our Nombre d'Or Production Festival has built strong links for IBC in this community and the Festival has received critical acclaim worldwide.
"However, our primary strategic aim for the Festival was to significantly increase the number of Producers attending IBC and visiting the exhibition floor. Our Producer Briefing sessions that explain technology have built a healthy attendance. During IBC2001 these sessions were full.
"Therefore for IBC2002 we will refocus our investment in conference sessions and we will not proceed with the Nombre d'Or Production Festival. I would like to thank everyone who has helped us progress this far. Two important players in the Festival, Paul Kafno and Mike Lumley are forming an IBC Production Events Group for IBC2002 and I am sure we will see many of our friends from this area continue their excellent contributions to IBC.”
