'Av in the City' event hits Docklands

AV in the City, an event intended to highlight the business benefits of audiovisual technology, is to take place on April 1 at Cabot Hall in London's Docklands.
This follows on from the success of the first event held at The Brewery in December 2003. Hosted by leading AV reseller, Impact Marcom, AV in the City targets business users working in the City and Docklands area, and will deliver not only displays from key manufacturers, but also a programme of business application-oriented seminars.
Technologies on display will include audio, video, web and IP conferencing from Polycom; presentation and large screens from NEC, Pioneer, Sharp and NEC-Mitsubishi; editing and video switching from Newtek, and video streaming from Viewcast and Optibase.
Seminars will run alongside the manufacturers displays, with speakers from Polycom, Optibase and Viewcast. In addition, the seminar will open with an address from Maron Bennette, IP Communications Programme Manager UK & Ireland at Cisco's Business Development Department. He will deliver an overview of the benefits and applications for business video over IP.
AV in the City will also run a Displays Comparison Session that will demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of using Plasma and/or LCD screens in different business environments. Pete Gamby, Research Director for independent display specialists Meko Ltd, will run this session.
