Vistek announce NAB lineup

This year’s NAB will be Vistek's definitive launch into the world of High Definition.
An entire range of HD products, all fully interchangeable and compatible with the existing SD line, will make their first appearance. By spending significant effort listening to specific customer demands, Vistek believe that this HD range will be recognised as ‘Second Generation’, with design features that meet actual operational demands.
Of particular interest will be an HD synchroniser, designed with in-coming HD line control in mind. Vistek already have a very successful SD synchroniser, the V1641, and the design of the HD version builds on the experience of that unit. The V6402 module includes a 2 x 1 input switch, plus a Proc Amp. It can be coupled to another new module, the V6302 Advanced Audio Processor, to provide audio de-embedding, processing and re-embedding facilities.
The V6302 itself is a remarkable package. It actually provides channel switching, level control, re-mixing and both variable and tracking delay for up to 6 channels of AES digital audio, or 12 analogue channels. It also has provision for an on-board Dolby Digital decoder, allowing decoding of either Dolby E or Dolby Digital audio streams. This is of particular value where material is being exchanged between different organisations or departments, where differences in channel allocation for surround sound may exist.
The HD line-up also includes a down converter, an up converter and a cross converter. Each has been designed to capitalise on Vistek's extensive experience in adaptive conversion, resulting in very clean conversion between formats. In line with the rest of Vistek's HD products, these converters are designed to fit into the standard Vistek V1600 series rack frame, allowing a versatile method of dealing with conversion issues as they arise. Each converter can also be linked to the Advanced Audio Processor, allowing conversion to encompass audio as well as video.
A key feature to all these modules is that they support processing expansion. In the case of the video modules this expansion will provide enhanced facilities such as Colour Correction, or Signal Legalising.
