ZONE VISION LAUNCH REALITY TV CHANNEL IN SOUTH AFRICA
ZONE Vision, the London-based thematic channel producers and distributors have further expanded the reach of their popular Reality TV channel by signing a deal with MultiChoice to launch the channel in South Africa to additional 600,000 subscribers.
Covering the world's most exciting, real-life drama documentaries and fly-on-the-wall stories, the Reality TV Channel is now broadcast to 95 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Reality TV has already proved a hit on MultiChoice in the rest of Africa, broadcasting 24-hours per day English language reality programming in 46 territories from Angola to Zimbabwe. Following this performance it is expected that Reality TV will drive audiences to the MultiChoice platform in South Africa. The channel will be used as one of the drivers to increase subscribers in its upcoming Christmas campaign.
Reality TV will be hitting the screens on November 1, 2001 with its exciting, action-packed, adrenaline-pumped programming that combines hard-hitting, real-life drama with a close-up look at the work of police, firefighters, emergency room medics and rescue teams. Alongside the action viewers will find intelligent, probing documentaries and fun-filled looks at weird people, strange places and unsolved mysteries.
The popularity of the channel has increased rapidly since it was first launched across Europe in December 1999 on DTH and cable networks. Reality TV now boasts a subscribership of over seven million across three continents in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It is currently available in 95 territories in 13 language versions and there are plans to roll it out in a number of further territories including Latin America and Asia. (CD)
