BBC Broadcast name new Head of Operations

BBC Broadcast have appointed a new Head of Operations, tasked with helping manage channels at the recently opened Broadcast Centre.
Stephen Stewart previously managed the five account at the London Playout Centre, prior to which he managed Flextech’s five major satellite channels, live studios, and 13 post suites. He also implemented a video server and automation technology to allow expansion to 17 channels.
Previously, Stewart was the programme director for Formula One Communications and a Senior Network Director for Channel 4.
Stewart said: “I am excited to have joined BBC Broadcast as they start to fill the Broadcast Centre with channels, and look forward to bringing my skills to this talented company as the facilities of the Broadcast Centre are made available to all broadcasters.”
Margaret Kelly, Director of Playout and Media Services, commented: “Stephen will be a key member of our playout management team and brings valuable experience to our business as we start to playout channels from the new Broadcast Centre over the next year.”
