Axon IP And Multiview Solutions At BVE 2018

News Image
Axon Digital Design is attending BVE2018 with an enhanced range of IP products and production tools that are designed to help broadcasters deal with the challenges of the move to IP.

As broadcasters and manufacturers look to the future, there is no doubt that IP will become the backbone of our industry because, with protocol enhancements, it will prove more convenient, more flexible and eventually cheaper than SDI. But in the meantime, until those benefits can be easily delivered, Axon's strategy remains both customer-focused and pragmatic. Format-agnostic, the company is committed to delivering the products and hybrid/bridge solutions that are needed as broadcasters move from SDI to IP. At the same time, it is also working on the next generation of products where Ethernet is the default interface.

With this in mind, Axon is using the BVE show to unveil the NUG220 & NGU220, 4K Ethernet bridges with TICO encoding. These Synapse cards can bridge up to 2x 4k/UHD (4-wire) into a single 10Gb/s Ethernet using TICO compression.

Axon will also present its SynView Multiview solution, which is capable of handling both 4K and any IP video formats. SynView is ideal for a wide range of applications and from small to extremely large monitoring walls, and is ready for the future because it can support whatever video transport mechanism the industry chooses to adopt.

Utah Scientific's new 400 Series 3 platform, which is on display for the first time at BVE, is the perfect choice for high-density SDI coupled with the ability to create high-density IP signals from the same central frame. Backed by Utah Scientific's renowned support and legendary reliability, the 400 Series 3 can handle any number of IP and SDI professional video signal formats along with a number of audio and data formats

Axon's BVE line up will also include its Cerebrum control and monitoring software, which is fast becoming the control solution for choice for mobile production, news and studio live production, master control and remote production.

Finally, BVE 2018 will provide Axon with the ideal opportunity to launch its MPEG TS multiviewer in the UK. This multiviewer is part of Axon's SMART DVB, a complete suite of tools to monitor, report and analyze live MPEG-2 and DVB transport streams. Powerful and versatile, it enables owners and operators to ensure health, conformity and quality across the complete digital distribution chain and to drive performance at the highest level.
