UTV GETS ANIMATED WITH CARTOONS

UTV are going animated this Christmas and New Year when well known faces like Julian Simmons, Gerry Kelly, Pamela Ballantine, Mike and Lynda among others will be transformed in all their glory into cartoon characters to wish viewers a very special festive season.
Alan Bremner, Director of Programmes for UTV, said: "Viewers are in for a real laugh this year as our presenters really got into the spirit of this animation lark. The characters make the most of each presenter's individual quirks along with a special appearance by a new presenter who we are hoping makes it past Christmas Day and is sure to be a firm favourite with the viewers. We've also got a festive line-up of programming to beat away those winter blues and ensure viewers are well entertained over the holidays."
UTV kicks off with 'Black in White' on Tuesday December 18 at 7.30pm. This Brian Black documentary shows how the pollution of the polar seas is affecting the creatures that live there.
On December 21 at 8.30pm, it's the Kelly Christmas Special. Sit back, relax and watch Gerry Kelly celebrate the Festive season with special guests Daniel O'Donnell, Lisa Riley and May McFettridge, among others.
On December 29 at 9.45pm, sit back and enjoy a McKeever Special. In this special compilation, you're guaranteed a whole load of laughs with some of the best moments from the last series of 'McKeever', including the moment when 'the lovely Debbie McGee' gave the chambermaids a ballet lesson to remember!
New Year's Day brings two special programmes to UTV. At 5.30pm, 'New Horizons' traces the creation and development of the first Children's Hospice in Northern Ireland. The 'Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in Concert' at 6pm is the first of two programmes showing a performance by the world-famous orchestra in Belfast's Ulster Hall. The second programme is on Sunday January 6 4.30pm. (CD)
