Pepper entertain 'The Young Visiters'

Pepper have recently completed the grade on a live action adaptation of Daisy Ashford's 'The Young Visiters'.
Written by nine-year-old Daisy Ashford, The Young Visiters was published in 1919 in its original form without corrections for spelling or punctuation.
The ninety-minute feature from BBC Drama stars Jim Broadbent, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy and Lindsey Marshal. Shot on location and in studio on Super 16, using both Kodak and Fuji stock, the brief for Pepper's colourist, Chris Beeton, was to use the grade to enhance the difference in texture and colour density between the two stocks. The Fuji stock was used for the richer Crystal and Buckingham Palace scenes while Kodak came into its own for the more 'realistic' parts of the story.
Kate Stannard, Post Supervisor, said: "Beeton is a wonderful colourist. His grade has imbued the project with rich colour. A fantastic job."
Owing to the author's extreme youth, there is a naivety in the prose which is a fundamental part of the books' charm. Beeton was required to ensure this was exploited to its full potential in the look and feel of the grade.
