Tennis TV Scoops Prestigious Award
Tennis TV has scooped the Best Sports Project at the TV Sports Awards ceremony in Monte-Carlo.
The TV Sports Awards, supported by Sportel, celebrates excellence in the sports media industry, with nominations being decided by a panel of sports industry experts and the eventual winners being voted for by Sportel delegates and members of the wider sports media industry.
Tennis TV streams 2000 tennis matches a year live and on demand and more than 1000 hours of classic ATP World Tour matches to subscribers globally. It was re-imagined and re-launched for the 2017 season, targeting streaming devices, smartphones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop users. With a bold new design it delivers a consistent user experience across devices, whatever the size of the screen.
ATP Media's winning submission outlined the scope of the project, working with new supplier Deltatre, to design and re-build Tennis TV from the ground up across multiple platforms. The completed brief was to deliver a truly multi-platform video service; create a rich tennis environment that was visually beautiful yet highly usable; and to deliver reliable, HD streaming, payment and editorial tools.
With an increased offering in the number of live matches available, the new Replays element of Tennis TV was equally important, with many subscribers using Tennis TV as a catch-up service. Full match replays are now available indefinitely on all devices and programmable on your own channel.
Other new features include on-demand stats where graphical overlays are available synced in real-time with the video stream; and a library of over 1000 hours of classic ATP World Tour matches from the ATP Archive are also available to watch in full.
Stuart Taylor, Digital Director at ATP Media said: "This award is fantastic recognition of a huge team effort over the last year to create and run this project – thanks to the hard work and determination of our ATP Media team, management and our partners who help support Tennis TV."
