DERWEN ADDS DISCREET SMOKE TO ON-LINE ARMOURY

DERWEN, part of the Barcud Derwen Group, has purchased a Discreet smoke from full service reseller Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.
This represents the third smoke sale in two months by the Soho-based reseller following on from earlier sales to Platform Post and Rapid Pictures. Derwen, which is based in Cardiff, invested in the smoke to enhance its on-line facilities.
Smoke joins several Avid off-line systems and linear on-line suites. The system has already been used on a number of dramas, documentaries and commercials.
Commenting on the purchase, Derwen Editor Emyr Jenkins, said: "For certain jobs, there will always be a place at our facility for a linear on-line suite, but we also wanted to offer clients the best in cutting edge technology. After extensive research, we narrowed the list down to three systems and these were put through their paces on a real project. smoke was outstanding and will enable us to go several steps further in our on-line finishing."
