ITV Unveils New Commission

ITV has released details regarding a new mini-series called Cheat.

The four-part drama focuses on the relationship between university professor Leah and her student Rose. What initially looks like an open-and-shut case of academic deception quickly spirals out-of-control, ending in fatal consequences. This triggers a sequence of events that threaten to engulf both Leah and Rose.

With two intelligent minds unwilling to back down, Cheat looks at how far a person will go when prepared to stand up for what they believe – and at what cost.

Gaby Hull is the writer, while Harry and Jack Williams from Two Brothers Pictures will executive produce the drama. Cheat will be produced by Lydia Hampson with details of who is to direct the series still to be announced. Details of the series' casting and key production roles will also be announced later this year.

ITV's Head of Drama, Polly Hill, confirmed commission and said: "Cheat is a fiendishly engaging four part drama which I'm delighted to commission from screening writing newcomer, Gaby Hull. It's a tense and taut thriller packed with intriguing plot that promises to have audiences on the edge of their seat. I'm thrilled we'll be working with Two Brothers Pictures on this series."
