Matrox To Showcase Captioning Of Live Web Programming

News Image
Dedicated to offering intuitive solutions for broadcasters, Matrox is demonstrating the Monarch HDX's all new, captioning of live internet programming functionality, alongside its complete range of H.264 streaming and recording devices at NAB 2017.

Matrox Monarch HDX — Dual-Channel Broadcast Streaming and Recording Appliance
Monarch HDX is a versatile dual-channel encoder designed for today's most demanding video delivery workflows. At $1995 USD, the Monarch HDX is ideal for broadcasters who require the integration of closed captioning while streaming and/or recording.

Retrieving closed-captioning data from the SDI VANC, the Monarch HDX's caption-enhanced H.264 media can be streamed to video hosting platforms including YouTube Live and Ustream, media servers such as Wowza, or a variety of content delivery networks (CDNs). MOV/MP4 files recorded with Monarch HDX preserve captions which can be included in video on demand (VOD) or archiving workflows.

Matrox Maevex 6150 — Quad-4K Encoding and Recording Appliance
For the first time in North America, Matrox will show its newly announced Matrox Maevex 6150 quad encoder, capable of capturing, encoding, and recording up to four 4K inputs. Streaming and/or recording of four or more channels simultaneously at high quality and low bit rates, the Maevex 6150 offers industry leading encoding and streaming density—all in a convenient, rack-ready 1U dual-density form factor.

Additionally, working with multiple protocols—including RTP, RTMP, RTSP, MPEG2.TS—compatibility with other hardware and software for decoding, as well as cloud based video and content delivery networks is practically assured. The Maevex 6150 can be easily programmed and controlled with the included Matrox PowerStream Plus software, managed via custom applications incorporating the PowerStream Plus API, or started/stopped directly on the device itself.

Matrox Monarch LCS — Lecture Capture Appliance
An easy-to-use lecture capture device priced at just $2495, IT administrators will find the Monarch LCS appliance an excellent addition to their portfolio of learning tools—simple to set up and integrate into any open Video Management System (VMS) or Lecture Management System (LMS).

The appliance provides two independent video files or streams, allowing audiences to remain fully engaged by putting control into their hands. When used with a compatible 3rd party player, the aligned video streams enable the viewer to seamlessly select and switch between their preferred layouts. Otherwise, preset production modes—such as picture-in-picture or side-by-side—allow lecturer and presentation materials to be mixed before recording and streaming, offering a simple setup for streaming purposes.

Matrox Monarch HD — Professional Streaming and Recording Appliance
At $995 the Monarch HD is ideal for simple installations where only a single HDMI feed needs to be webcast to Facebook Live or YouTube Live while simultaneously recording a master-quality recording for post event editing.

Matrox Monarch HD takes an HDMI input from a source such as a camera and generates an encoded stream compliant with IP protocols (RTSP or RTMP). While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, it simultaneously records a high-quality file (MP4 or MOV) to an SD card, a USB drive, or a network-mapped drive.
