Primestream Showcases Integration Between Xchange 5.5 And Aspera FASP

Primestream have announced a demonstration of an enhanced level of integration between its Xchange Suite software platform for Dynamic Media Management and Aspera's FASP accelerated file-transfer technology at this year's BVE 2017.

Exhibiting in Aspera's stand this year, Primestream will also demonstrate VR/360-asset management support within Xchange.

Xchange is a Web based, enterprise-ready software platform that offers single and multi-site operations global access to their content and workflows. When combined with Primestream's FORK suite of products, it seamlessly integrates file-based workflows with signal-based infrastructures – giving customers a clear path as they evolve their workflows and facilities over time.

The integration with Aspera FASP accelerates file-based workflows for easy, fast, and efficient content upload and sharing between remotely connected environments. Users can also take advantage of Xchange project-centric workflows with Aspera FASP for archiving and restoring projects with its assets into or from object-based storage solutions such as S3 and SWIFT or a wide-variety of 3rd party archive solutions.

Xchange v5.5 has a host of powerful features, such as Workspaces, a module for easily building and customising the layout of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) based on how the users need to work. These layouts can then be shared among various teams to make working more efficient.

Add value to content with Workspaces' built-in metadata tagging engine that integrates with metadata sources such as Associated Press (AP)'s industry-leading metadata platform for professionals to add accurate, comprehensive, richly detailed data, designed specifically for use by news publishers.

The addition of VR/360 support enables content creators to produce and store VR/360 content while benefitting from a fully collaborative workflow and a metadata rich environment. Xchange enables previewing content in 360°, searching within a 360° video to locate spatial markers with specific X and Y coordinates, as well as storing 360 content with object-based storage solutions such as S3 and SWIFT or a wide-variety of 3rd party archive solutions.
