Channel Dynamics upgrade G4 performance
Channel Dynamics, specialist distributor of performance enhancement products for Macs, have just announced the availability of the new PowerForce G4 Dual CPU cards from PowerLogix, featuring the latest Motorola PowerPC, the 7457.
Running at speeds of 1.2 or 1.4GHz, these new CPU cards have twice the L2 cache (512K) of the previous 7455-based cards (256K) for additional performance. In addition, the new 7457 draws an incredible 40% less peak power than the previous chip for cool and reliable, high-performance operation. All models include 2Mb of L3 cache per CPU.
The cards are compatible with all PowerMac G4 towers from the AGP Graphics model, up to and including the QuickSilver 2002. Series 100 cards are compatible with the 100MHz bus PowerMacs, and Series 133 cards are compatible with the 133MHz bus PowerMacs.
PowerForce G4 Dual CPU cards give PowerMac owners a high-performance yet cost effective performance boost.
Two models will be shipping, the PowerForce Dual 1.2GHz, and the PowerForce Dual 1.4GHz.
