The Diva-Lite LED, Is This The New Standard?

News Image
The new Diva-Lite LED is a revolutionary LED that allows complete control of the spectrum with colour correct pure white light plus an inexhaustible palette of effects colours. Based on the original form factor of the original fluorescent fixture so popular for location shooting, but with the added advantage of the very latest in LED technology.

So what's new?
LEDs are a relatively new technology and as such their true potential for image creators has only been touched on – the new Kino Flo LED systems really show what that potential is!

Firstly the old adage time is money is a reality on today's film shoots where crews and time are in short supply and this is why this type of equipment has so much potential – it gives you creative possibilities on the fly in a way that has never been possible.

Great Colour and not just the whites!
Firstly it goes without saying the whites that are tuneable from 2700k – 6500k (in white mode) produce fantastic colour reproduction and beautiful skin tones something not always synonymous with LEDs, and on top of this and the really new clever bit is, no more putting up with lights that do not mix well or issues that arise when working in a mixed light locations.

This is an issue of the past as this system offers, both the ability to dial in up to a full plus/minus green plus it also unbelievably has prebuilt spectrums that are selectable, for example: Mercury Vapour (factory), Sodium Vapour (street light), Warm and Cool fluorescents and even candle light!

The great thing about this is that it is so easy to access and adjust on the fly – no more gel, and no more experimentation this light can be set and tweaked as you go – and it is easy to do as the operating system is designed for the luddite!

Up to 2 million colours at your finger tips!
Okay, so the whites work – but now you need an effect colour or you want a specific gel, to help you here there are well over 100 pre-loaded gels from deep saturated blues to moonlight, Reds, Greens and everything in between – there is even a cosmetic peach!

And once selected these gels can be adjusted from deep hues to light pastels to camera on the fly. There is also the ability to decide and adjust the source kelvin temperature (from 2500k – 9900k in colour mode) behind the gel. In other words you can mimic your favourite gel on a tungsten lamp or HMI (or anywhere in between).

And there is more!
So what else would you want from your Diva-Lite? Wouldn't it be good if it could also run off battery or even be controlled via wireless DMX. Wouldn't it be great if that light leak was not there anymore and you did not need to use black wrap! There are a multitude of upgrades to this fixture some small tweaks others revolutionary – one thing is for certain getting a quality image under pressure has never been easier.

Features
• Tuneable pure white soft light 2500k – 9900k
• Beautiful skin tones and colour reproduction
• Variable Green/Magenta to match lighting & camera profiles
• 2 million colours including pre-programmed gels
• Black body tracking across the planckian curve
