Bright TV Thailand Upgrades With PlayBox Technology

Bright TV has upgraded its playout system to a PlayBox Technology ProductionAirbox Neo, it has been announced.

ProductionAirBox Neo is a media manipulation and delivery system with near-zero latency demanded for the fast-paced work environment of broadcast news, sports and live production. A range of file formats and resolutions can be imported into the playlist, with up to 16 digital audio channels to accommodate multi-channel multi-language programmes.

The feature set also includes forward or reverse shuttle at up to 32x speed, mixing of different video resolutions and formats in a single playlist, logical content trimming, multi-channel audio output, plus support for a variety of compression standards and media containers. The Network Device Interface (NDI) open protocol for IP production workflow is also supported.

Ampol Phimphila, senior broadcast technician at the Thailand-based broadcaster, said: "Bright TV has been using a PlayBox Technology AirBox system very successfully for the past three years. Upgrading to a ProductionAirBox Neo enables us to make greater use of studio insertion, handling a wider range of file formats and extending the output to four channels. The server is compact and connects easily with the rest of our infrastructure. Most of our programmes are produced in high-definition so we can expand from SD to HD playout very easily. PlayBox Technology Thailand provided good hands-on training both to our operators and technical staff, and responds quickly to any request for support."
