IABM UK Council Event Announced
IABM has unveiled details of an IABM UK Council event to take place at Pinewood, UK, later this month.
The event follows the impact made by the joint IABM/AIMS IP interoperability zone at IBC2016 in September. Entitled 'IP: Are we ready for it – and it for us?', the meeting will feature presentations from, as well as discussions with, representatives of AIMS, AMWA, ASPEN and Sony's NMI. It will be chaired by John Ive, IABM Director of Technology and Strategic Insight, and Stan Moote, IABM Chief Technology Officer.
The event offers IABM members and end-users from broadcast and media organisations an opportunity to further understand the potential that real collaboration over IP standards and interoperability can offer and to examine where we are today in relation to the move to a fully integrated IP digital workflow.
Panelists confirmed to attend so far include:
• Andreas Hilmer; Director of Marketing & Communications, Lawo – Board Director of AIMS
• Peter Brightwell; BBC R&D – representing AMWA
• Simon Reed; Managing Director, Evertz UK – representing ASPEN
• Hiroshi Yamauchi; Senior Manager New Technologies & Business Development – Sony Professional Solutions Europe, representing NMI.
Stan Moote said: "IP interoperability and collaboration was very much center-stage at IBC last month. This event offers IABM members a great opportunity to hear how things are moving forward in a more measured environment away from the throng of the exhibition floor. I look forward to an enlightening – and lively! – discussion."
The event takes place on 14 October, 2016, and is free to attend for IABM members as well as end-users, and there will be a networking opportunity over refreshments following the formal session. Places can be booked here.
