BR Remote Reports Successful IBC

BR Remote has reported back on a successful and informative IBC2016 for the company.

Over the last year, the company has restructured its business, admitting that as a result, it had not produced many new products – except for the 4K CamBall460. BR Remote has said it has also focused on improving and upgrading its cameras and controller systems, including the CamBall3, RCP3, and RD-11/12 Radio system.

Following discussions with a number of visitors throughout IBC, the business has said it now has a "clear picture of where our customers would like us to focus our efforts over the forthcoming months."

The company confirmed that it will continue to develop its product range to be more capable both in control input options and picture output and transport options. It aims to make virtually all improvements retro-fittable to its cameras and controllers, with many upgrades available now.

One particular development is the potential move towards IP picture transport. There are several methods of doing this, with varying degrees of quality and latency but BR Remote says its system will allow the user to change between protocols and compression standards as required by simply swapping modules, without even needing to remove any covers.

Upgrades already available include:

• CamBall 2 & 3 series – Sony Exmor sensors
• HDC-100 & 150 – Sony Exmor sensors
• Multi Function Controller – firmware upgrades
• Remote Camera Panel Mk3 – firmware, joystick, and Tally inputs
• RD-11 & RD-12 – firmware & more camera models.

Key issues at IBC2016 included IP transport, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Motion Control, 4K, and UHDTV. BR Remote has pledged to address each of these areas.
