Two Four to create urban gardening series for C4

CHANNEL 4 have commissioned Two Four Productions, Plymouth, to undertake a major new gardening series aimed at people living in the heart of the city.
The challenge for new presenter Matt James and his team is to create a garden where there is almost no space and to show city-dwellers the potential of their roofs, balconies and patios.
Channel 4’s Head of Programmes, Nations & Regions, Stuart Cosgrove (pictured), commented: “Not only is this an excellent commission for a regional production company, but it’s also a prime example of how television can reflect changes in our cities as people take responsibility for transforming their lives.”
The series will feature gardens in cities across the UK, including Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton, as well as gardens in Scotland.
Head of Daytime, Jo McGrath, who commissioned the ten-part series, said: “I wasn’t looking for a gardening series but Matt James was a talent who jumped off the screen – this was an idea which just had to be made.”
