Ross Video Launches Carbonite Black Solo

News Image
Carbonite Black Solo is packed full of features that deliver incredible video production horsepower in an amazingly compact and affordable package.

Dynamic and creative capabilities include DVE functions, auxiliary buses, media stores, MiniME's, integrated MultiViewers, production software tools, advanced chroma keying, a range of I/O types, 8 keyers including an Ultrachrome chroma keyer, assignable frame sync and format convertors, and device control make even the smallest productions look big. And now, every Carbonite system is shipping with an XPression LiveCG software license included.

Carbonite Black Solo uses the absolute latest technology to pack the unprecedented production power of Carbonite into a super compact package. The Ross Multi-Definition Production Engine that lies at the heart of Carbonite Black Solo offers the same pristine processing used in the larger Carbonite switchers. The superb performance of the award winning Carbonite family is available to you in this incredibly small package, at an unbeatable price.

All Carbonite Black Solo models feature a breadth of capabilities that make these switchers unique in their class. Carbonite Black Solo is simple to setup and use. It provides the same intuitive panel ergonomics and superior production efficiencies as the bigger models. You can rapidly execute a variety of wipe patterns and memory recalls in just a few pushes, and the implementation of a rapid, auto-follow menu system means that you do not need to memorize menu hierarchies in order to fine tune your actions. A simple turn of a knob will apply a border, adjust softness and activate multiplication and rotation to create your own unique looks. No time or effort is wasted navigating through the panel to see what you want and get what you want. Contributing to the power and ease of use of Solo are attributes such as the effortless ability to perform full previews on any keyer and next transition style operation. You can create imaginative and dramatic productions with this powerful feature set.

The ergonomically designed hardware control panel provides Carbonite Black Solo with the capabilities of a much larger switcher. Intuitive and proven panel ergonomics with ViewControl and DashBoard operations provides a significant level of production efficiency, control, and accuracy that results in shorter learning curves, and fewer production errors. The included DashBoard software panel can also be used as a secondary control point in conjunction with the Solo hardware panel or as the primary control surface for the 1RU Carbonite Black Solo processing engine. Solo is unmatched in its class in the ability to control devices sporting robotic camera, video server and audio mixer control interfaces. The integrated DashBoard control makes it possible for you to create purpose built user interfaces for specific production environments. ViewControl provides a touch screen user interface that integrates the live Solo MultiViewer into a touch screen control panel and makes running a production super-easy.

Whether looking to equip a production studio, flight pack, or add a back up switcher, Solo is the answer. No ordinary compact production switcher, Carbonite Black Solo packs an astounding feature set including 2 MiniMEs ā€“ perfect for use in event production or for secondary outputs. There are different configurations available to suit various production requirements. The first is a self contained production switcher and hardware panel combination with 9 inputs and 6 outputs. Designed to fit perfectly into flight cases and rack mount drawers, it's a perfect fit for small mobile productions and completely at home mounted in desk in your production facility. Another model offers the exact same feature set as the All-in-One Solo but housed in a diminutive 1RU rack frame, and is completely operational via DashBoard SoftPanel interface running on MAC, PC or Linux. A separate hardware control panel surface for use in conjunction with the Carbonite Black Solo 1RU frame, or for multiple control point use on either system will be available in fall 2016.

All Carbonite Black Solo systems ship with an XPression LiveCG software license to provide you with the ability to create high-quaility production graphics from a PC and sent over the network directly into the Media Store channels without sacrificing inputs or having to buy a costly external graphics system. If the deployment also includes a separate XPression Go, Prime, or Studio system- it can be used as an additional Designer seat. Pairing Solo with XPression Real Time Motion Graphics and ACID camera systems results in a tightly integrated solution to produce all kinds of awesomely creative live media.

Carbonite Black Solo is the perfect fit for smaller productions where quality and operational performance is essential.
