Viaccess-Orca To Participate In VR Panel
Viaccess-Orca has announced that Alain Nochimowski, Executive vice president of Innovation, will take part in a panel addressing Virtual Reality at Cable Congress 2016.
The panel, 'Virtual or Real? The Business of Virtual Reality', will be moderated by Benjamin de Wit, Festival Producer and Creative Director of Dutch VR Days. It will take place on Wednesday 29 June, at 11.30am, Cable Congress 2016 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center, Warsaw, Poland.
During the session, the panel will discuss the VR environment, focusing on industry applications beyond gaming. They will outline VR ecosystem requirements, benefits, and integration strategies, explaining how VR can be a viable business model for premium television service offerings, especially for premium episodic and live content, such as sports.
Mr Nochimowski will also explain the advantages of Viaccess-Orca's online video platform solutions for VR/360-degree services and how they are being used to address the needs of operators, broadcasters, and content rights owners. Real-world VR trials by leading pay-TV operators will also be highlighted.
