SAM Announces New Division

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has announced the creation of a new division.

The division will combine a number of the company's product lines into a business unit that is focused on the provision of software-based solutions.

The Media Software Solutions division will combine SAM's News & Sports production systems, Media Management, Workflow Orchestration, and Playout solutions.

Running Media Software Solutions as EVP and General Manager will be Neil Maycock. He will be joined by David Lane, CTO and EVP Engineering for the new division.

Commenting on the announcement, Maycock said: "SAM has a strong heritage of providing highly innovative software solutions from production and editing through to playout and Channel in a Box. The creation of a group specifically focused on these product lines will allow us to not only continue the technology innovation, but also develop the new commercial models that allow our customers to fully leverage the flexibility of software systems."
