Forscene Now Available On Microsoft Azure Marketplace
Forbidden Technologies has released a virtual video post-production solution, with the addition of professional video editing software, Forscene's Edge Server, to the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
Forscene offers video review, logging, editing, and publishing entirely in the cloud and as SaaS through a web browser. The post-production platform is hardware independent, but users tend to rely on an on-site ingest server running a Forscene ingest license to transcode and upload their media to the cloud and make it available in their Forscene account.
The virtual Edge Server, which is now available on the Azure Marketplace, is an alternative to the physical hardware ingest solution and allows clients to upload video footage to, and publish full-resolution sequences from, their Forscene accounts without the need for any ingest hardware.
The end-to-end virtualised post-production workflow was originally demonstrated at IBC 2015 and was successfully tested by Forscene partner, deltatre, to deliver more than 500 VOD packages to platforms including YouTube for one of 2015's biggest European sporting events.
"With more than 57% of Fortune 500 companies relying on Microsoft Azure including blue chip broadcast, sports and news clients, the Microsoft Azure Marketplace has fantastic commercial potential for Forscene," said Jason Cowan, director of business development director at Forbidden. "We look forward to working with Microsoft to make the most of this opportunity."
"Performance is non-negotiable for our customers, and is critical to the success of their cloud-driven businesses," added Nicole Herskowitz, senior director of product marketing, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Corp. "The addition of Forscene to the Microsoft Azure Marketplace will help maximize application performance, and offer customers added choice and flexibility in how they build their cloud strategies over the next several years."
