SADiE adopt AAF interchange format

SADiE has announced the imminent release of software integrating the Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) file interchange standard for multimedia.
AAF support will be available as an option on the company's Series 5 range of digital audio workstations in the very near future. With its extensive experience at the forefront of interchange technology, SADiE is set to become one of the first professional audio workstation manufacturers to offer the benefits of AAF to its customers.
The Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) is a new multimedia file format designed to allow images, graphics, sound and metadata to be easily exchanged across different platforms and applications. AAF is intended to help deliver the full benefits of digital media to content creators including film, television, Internet and post-production professionals.
"The architects of AAF have a vision of the workflow that modern film and television production demands that very closely matches our own," stated Joe Bull, Managing Director of SADiE. "Projects started on, for example, an Avid or Quantel video editing system, need the superior audio editing and processing functions that are only available from a dedicated audio workstation. With the addition of our fully integrated AAF support, SADiE will provide these projects with a powerful real-time audio editing solution. As technology progresses, optimising creativity becomes the most significant part of any production and being able to use the right tool for the job can represent a significant saving in the overall costs of that production.
