ClickShare To Connect Amsterdam RAI

News Image
With 22 conference and meeting rooms, 11 exhibition halls, seven restaurants, and multi-functional lounges, Amsterdam RAI attracts over 1.5 million visitors every year, making it one of the world's biggest conference and meeting venues.

With such a vast amount of visitors every year, the chief goal of the RAI is to find the best way in which to help bring so many people together, both physically and virtually. This involved finding an AV solution for RAI Amsterdam's meeting and conference rooms that would allow conference goers to effectively give presentations and work together, with a solution that solved the usual issues of operating system compatibility and jumbles of wires. That's when Amsterdam RAI was introduced to Barco ClickShare.

RAI becomes BYOD-friendly
Bringing personal mobile devices to use at work is becoming more and more popular. So much so that many companies now have official policies in place regarding BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). With this culture of bringing a range of personal laptops, tablets and smartphones to work and expecting them to be compatible with the devices of colleagues, it's only natural to expect a solution that can cope with this when visiting a major business centre like Amsterdam RAI, and when using its meeting and conference room facilities.

ClickShare boosts collaboration at RAI
Bret Baas, ICT manager at Amsterdam RAI, used to spend a large amount of time trying to solve compatibility issues for his visitors, including things like changing device resolutions and finding adaptors so that each device in the room would talk to the others. After seeing Barco ClickShare demonstrated to him, Bret was so confident that it would be the perfect way to help people work and collaborate together at Amsterdam RAI, that more than 25 ClickShare systems were installed in meeting and conference rooms throughout the venue.

Bret said: "I wanted to work with ClickShare, because I want to support visitors to Amsterdam RAI in a simple manner. I want to reduce their stress levels from the moment they get here. They should be able to enjoy a cup of coffee and relax before giving their presentation, instead of stressing about the technological and logistical aspects of it.

"If RAI can overcome the technological obstacles that people have come to expect when visiting tradeshow events, then they'll go away with a good feeling, knowing that RAI organised everything perfectly for them. ClickShare helps us to do that, and it is definitely worth the investment."
