TVT Productions Creates New ITV Docu

TVT Productions has revealed it is behind ITV's latest documentary, Scammers.

Airing on Monday 18 May at 21:00 on ITV, and narrated by Jamie Theakston, 'Scammers' investigates how innocent people throughout the UK are being conned by new technology, social media and postal scams.

Cyber crime costs the UK economy an estimated £27bn a year – and that is just reported crimes. The new ITV primetime documentary lifts the lid on how scammers and cyber criminals work, and how police in various parts of Britain are trying to stop this menace. The show also reveals harrowing and heartbreaking stories of the victims of hi-tech crime that is now affecting at least four million Britons a year.

These include a woman who fell for a Romance Scam and gave a non-existent boyfriend £180,000; a pensioner who received 30,000 pieces of scam mail over a four-year period and gave the crooks behind them £30,000; and the mother whose 17-year-old son committed suicide after being targeted by scammers pretending to be the police.

TVT Productions is a subsidiary of TVT and is behind a number of reality and factual entertainment projects. Recent productions have included documentaries for Channel 5, National Geographic International and Smithsonian Channels. They include 'What the Dambusters Did Next', 'America's Secret D-Day Disaster' and 'The Hunt for Hitler's Missing Millions'.

Scammers is produced and directed by Colin Campbell, with Thea Wrobble and Marc Knighton as Assistant Producers and Charles Thompson as Executive Producer. It was commissioned by Peter Fincham and Richard Klein, with Andrew O'Connell.
