Rushes complete Zoot Woman promo

Rushes have completed post on a music video for Zoot Woman's 'Grey Day', directed by Black Dog's Dawn Dawn Shadforth.
Shadforth's promo, shot on HD, opens with the band playing in a park with an unreal, stylised environment. Throughout the promo the fabric of the world is made up of flickery inconsistent electronic noise.
Details of the environment are inter-cut with the performance, curious close ups include people on park benches and leaves vibrating.
Adrenalin Producer, Jonathan Davies, said: "Zoot Woman 'Grey Day' is the latest music video directed by Shadforth. The video is based around band performance, a simple narrative and a lot of design work. At initial meetings with the director it was decided that because the video was so conceptual, Matt Jackson (Inferno) & and Jimmy Kidell (3D) needed to work on pre-visualisation and design elements before the shoot and during the offline stage. Marcus Timpson created a highly stylised grade in Spirit ready for Matt Jackson and his VFX team to put the video together."
Rushes Matt Jackon added "We were given the brief of creating a digitally distorted surreal world for the band to inhabit. Initially we combined multiple solarized telecine passes and inferno solarization to create the look. Some of the shots were also transferred in HD to achieve quirky pan and scan effects. These were then composited into a number of huge countryside matte paintings (Courtesy of Jimmy Kidell) to create the geographical environment. Then elements of these composited shots were broken up into sky, grass, trees etc and pulsating noise and shash textures were blended in. We wanted some very electronic textures so we used data-noise from the audio track and even crashed the software and recorded the results. During the instrumental part of the track, the band are surrounded by a fast moving city. These were created in Maya and texture mapped with photographs. We also rendered multiple passes of noise and shash textured onto the surface of the buildings. These were then composited in inferno to achieve a manic electronic cityscape."
