TL Audio updates Ivory Series

TL Audio will introduce the new updates to its Ivory Series (pictured) at Frankfurt 2002, hall 6.1 C49.
Since its launch in 1998, the Ivory Series has been TL Audio’s most successful product range ever, and the Ivory 2 Series will now replace the original Ivory line.
The Ivory 2 range still offers the five products found on the original: the 5001 Quad Valve Preamp, 5013 Dual Valve Equaliser, 5021 Dual Valve Compressor, 5051 Mono Valve Processor and the 5050 Mono Mic Pre-amp and Compressor.
The update improves on this base with a whole host of technical improvements and extra features have been incorporated into the new models, with updated cosmetics to match.
The key improvements include optional 24-bit digital output on all models; SPDIF format output selectable between 44.1 and 48kHz; a new discrete mic pre-amp design on the 5001, 5051 and 5050 models; hard and soft knee compression modes on the 5021, 5051 and 5050 models; improved optical gate design on the 5021 and 5051 models; and instrument DI inputs on each channel of the 5001 Quad Pre-amp.
A ‘fat’ contour switch has also been inserted on the 5013 Equaliser to provide a subtle LF/HF lift and a mid cut to provide added warmth and presence. On all models, the update provides a fully balanced line output on the 5050, higher impedance instrument inputs, improved line level noise performance and enhanced levels of valve drive.
TL Audio Managing Director, Tony Larking, said: “The Ivory Series has won many fans and these improvements are really a direct response from Ivory end-users who have given us valuable feedback over the last four years. We think the Ivory 2 now offers better sound and more flexibility, and we’re confident it will retain its position as the number one valve signal processing line.”
The new series is scheduled for shipping in April.
