Sales of Sonic DVD software soar

Sonic Solutions have announced that the sales of their desktop DVD creation applications, Sonic MyDVD and DVDit!, have topped the six million unit mark.
The announcement of this six million unit milestone has come only seven months after Sonic reached the three million unit mark, and highlights the strength of the DVD burning market, as well as Sonic's leading position supplying DVD creation software to PC, peripheral and drive OEMs.
"Since the introduction of recordable DVD, Sonic has been providing an easy and robust experience for consumers creating their own DVDs," said Jeff Loebbaka, Vice President and General Manager of Adaptec's Desktop Solutions Group. Based on the same technology as Sonic's industry-leading Hollywood DVD production systems, Sonic MyDVD and DVDit! make it fast and easy for home users and video enthusiasts to create DVDs and VCDs of their own videos and photos and add the same sizzle found in Hollywood titles.
