Vinten Fits Out Copenhagen Uni

Vinten has supplied its pedestals for three new studios at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

The Vinten equipment has been selected for three new multi-purpose studios at the university's Faculty of Humanities. Three of Vinten's Osprey pedestals are being installed in the studios, to be used for a range of applications by both students and employees. The equipment will assist TV training for the university's scientists and filming in house commercials and promotional video.

Vinten's Osprey Light pedestals were designed for smaller studios that require a lightweight pedestal in order to not compromise shot movement. The single stage pedestal has a 40kg/88.2lbs capacity, with crabbing base capability, and an on-shot stroke of 54 cm/ 21.2", with the addition of a wheel braking mechanism to eliminate the flat spots on the tire.

Over 50,000 students and employees attend the University of Copenhagen and the site is home to some of country's most modern facilities.

Philip Dalgoutte, product manager, Vinten, said: "When it came to selecting equipment, the university wanted professional, broadcast standard products that were straight forward to operate and robust enough to perform flawlessly, despite being in constant use by a multitude of different operators. We are delighted that our Osprey Light pedestals will play such a pivotal role in the studios, providing the flexibility required to support the diverse range of applications."

Lars Palmqvist, digital media specialist, University of Copenhagen, added: "Our original Vinten pedestals lasted more than 30 years and have taken us through thousands of different productions. As an educational institute we have to invest in our equipment wisely, it is vital to choose camera support equipment that not only performs well, but is durable and long lasting enough to provide us with the best value.

"The Osprey pedestals perform exceptionally well, they allow for a very smooth operation and can be moved around the studio without any bumps. We have used them in several shoots in both the large studio and the smaller podcast studio, and they have performed consistently regardless of the application."
