Omneon expands its European operation

Media server system provider Omneon Video Networks have appointed Steve Haines as Technology and Applications Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Based at Omneon’s European offices near Basingstoke, Haines will work closely with Omneon’s value-added resellers, system integrators and distribution partners. His responsibility will be to develop and implement production, post-production and transmission solutions based on Omneon’s Networked Content Server System.
Steve Haines has over 20 years experience in the video industry. Before joining Omneon, he was a product manager with Quantel, responsible for the Production and Graphics product lines, and more recently, the Server and Newsroom systems.
“Steve brings extensive industry experience to the Omneon team in Europe,” said Alan Hoggarth, Vice President of EMEA operations for Omneon.
“He will be working closely with our customers and application partners to implement Omneon server infrastructures. Steve’s experience is strategically important.
"His hiring coincides with the launch of our new MEDIASERVER MCP 2101 at NAB, which extends Omneon’s reach into the collaborative production and transmission areas, and squarely addresses the need for shared storage solutions for broadcasting,” he added.
