Gearhouse employs DTL Technology solution

Gearhouse Broadcast, the broadcast equipment hire and projects company, have signed a deal worth over £150,000 with manufacturer DTL Broadcast for the provision of audio and video distribution amplifiers.
Gearhouse Broadcast have gone back to the drawing board in the way that they prepare and present technology on major projects.
Flyaway racks have been re-designed, offering a robust, technologically advanced and portable system. The concept is to achieve a permanent installation look, while still maintaining the portability of the system. The signal distribution section of the system requires state-of-the-art design and high-quality products from manufacturers such as DTL Broadcast.
The decision to redesign the flyaway system has enabled the racks to be more flexible and easier to use, meaning that the system can be put together in a shorter timeframe, while still meeting full production specifications. The new flyaway cases include the latest digital technology incorporating routers, cameras, vision and audio desks.
These specific products were ordered for the use in the new flyaway systems on future projects including the ATP Tennis Masters Series and the Football World Cup, where reliability of systems is a key consideration.
Over the past four years Gearhouse Broadcast have spent in the region of £350,000 with DTL Broadcast. With 600 Serial Digital Amplifiers, 270 Analogue Stereo Audio Amplifiers, 240 Analogue Video Amplifiers, various rack frames and power supplies, this signals an ongoing commitment from Gearhouse Broadcast to the technology.
Technical Director, for Gearhouse Broadcast, Kevin Moorhouse, said: “We opted for DTL Broadcast's technology because it is tried and tested and does the job well. It is important for us to use the optimum technology available to us on major events.”
Gearhouse Broadcast have worked on a number of projects in the past incorporating DTL broadcast technology including the Sydney Olympics 2000, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and the ATP Tennis Masters Series as a rolling project.
