Inscriber RTX a 'fundamental part' of new weather metrics system

Inscriber have announced that RTX, their custom application solution, is an integral part of Weather Metrics' new weather graphics display system, 24x7 Weather.Net.
RTX is a programming tool for creating custom broadcast applications where the dynamic display of information is important, such as sports, elections and news. With RTX's direct interface to video hardware, developers can split screens, create multi-zone displays, continuous crawls, links to live data feeds, display clocks and more.
Based on the RTX platform, 24x7 Weather.Net addresses two major issues in weather broadcasting; reliance on scheduled updates from outsourced weather data providers, and local weather for remote areas not covered by the US National Weather Service. Using weather data collected from sources such as weather monitoring stations and the Internet, 24x7 Weather.Net provides broadcasters with a continual stream of local, real-time weather data. That data is integrated with the broadcaster's existing graphics and video content and displayed into six, separate zones.
Zones can be programmed to allow for station branding and advertising. The 24x7 Weather.Net system can be used to provide stations with programming for their second digital channel, local cable network, or to produce local weather cut-ins.
