3D Broadcast Expands

Based at the UK's famous Pinewood Studios, 3D Broadcast has recently expanded through the appointment of new company director Philip O'Marra, as well as the launch of its hires division.

As well as the appointment of Mr O'Marra, formally of ES Broadcast Ltd. and WTS, 3D Broadcast has announced it is expanding into the hiring arena with the purchase of several of ARRI's ALEXA XT Plus Cameras.
The ALEXA XT builds upon the reputation of the ALEXA through in-camera ARRIRAW recording, internal ND filtration, a 4:3 Super 35 sensor, Open Gate sensor mode, integrated CDL capture, LDS PL mount, new viewfinder mounting bracket, included anamorphic de-squeeze and high speed licenses.
The XT also features an integrated wireless receiver for camera and lens remote control, built-in tilt and roll sensors and additional connectors for camera and lens control, signal output and accessory power supply.
3D Broadcast is helmed by directors Martin Joannou and Paul Raeburn. The company offers professional advice regarding acquisition, post-production and media distribution solutions and supplies equipment from the big names including Panasonic, Sony, Canon, Ikegami, Blackmagic and Vitec group.
Martin Joannou said: "With our unique position at Pinewood Studios we felt the time was right to pursue other revenue streams and the appointment of Phil and the opening of a new hire department at Pinewood is an exciting time for our company."
