Audio-Technica Installs ATCS-60 For Local Council

Audio-Technica's ATCS-60 infra-red conference system has been installed at Matlock Town Council in England by Leeds-based The Mic Store.

The ATCS-60 system comes complete with wireless transceiver microphone units. Wireless infrared technology provides flexibility while configuring the system and when placing microphones. Up to 150 microphones can be used in Manual mode.

The main components of the ATCS-60 system comprise:
• ATCS-M60 delegate unit – featuring advanced DSP voice detection, manual operation option and four-channel operation for multiple language translation via software (ATCS-60MAG conference management software is included free of charge with each system)

• ATCS-C60 master control unit – allows selection of First In, First Out or Last In, First Out operation, threshold adjustment for automatic mode, direct output of up to five audio channels

• ATCS-60MIC – shock-mounted hypercardioid double-gooseneck models available in standard (430mm) and long (580mm) versions.

Additional modular options for the ATCS-60 conference system include the ATCS-V60 voting module and ATCS-A60MX long throw antenna system.
"We first became involved with Matlock Town Council around six months before the installation of the conference system," explains Matt Lawless from The Mic Store. We visited them on four occasions to familiarise ourselves with the site and demo products, matching them to the Council's specific requirements.
"One of the key factors in specifying the ATCS-60 system was the fact that there is a police station directly opposite the Council buildings, so security was of paramount importance. The infra-red nature of the ATCS-60, which means its signals are contained within the venue’s walls, made it ideal for this particular situation.
"Also of importance was the need to not only provide for a fixed number of delegates at the time of installation, but also to allow the Council to scale up the system in the future. The modular design of the ATCS-60 makes it easy and cost-effective to do this."
