Konami School standardises with Softimage|XSI

The Konami Computer Entertainment School has selected Softimage|XSI, the company's nonlinear 3-D production environment, as its primary tool for educating the next generation of game creators in Japan.
The Konami Computer Entertainment School, which educates students on subjects ranging from creating game art and level design to working as a production team, chose the Softimage|XSI environment due to the software's comprehensive feature set and collaborative capabilities.
The Konami Computer Entertainment School is part of the Konami Computer Group. The School was formed to provide advanced training for game developers in Japan, the majority of whom work for Konami after graduation. The deployment of the SOFTIMAGE|XSI software coincides with the school's Tokyo centre relocation to Roppongi Hills, where more than 300 students will be trained simultaneously.
Mikio Inoue, Principal of the Konami Computer Entertainment School commented on the choice of the Softimage|XSI environment: "Our mission is to transform students entering the school into the next generation of great game creators, many of whom will later join Konami in its efforts to overcome the competition with rival companies in a global market. To accomplish this, we need to offer the best educational environment. With Softimage|XSI and the technical assistance offered by Softimage, we are doing this."
