Digital Voodoo introduces HD Fury
Digital Voodoo, at NAB booth L15352, have unveiled the HD Fury – a high-definition capture and playback card featuring one HD SDI input, one HD SDI Output and eight channels of AES/EBU Digital Audio and simultaneous SD SDI downconversion.
The HD Fury is compatible with all Macintosh High-Definition design and editing applications such as Final Cut Pro 3. Users can work with uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 video directly in YUV colorspace.
"The HD Fury brings 10-bit HD to the Mac, which the industry has been asking for," said Matt Dowling, Product Manager at Digital Voodoo. "It has everything from simultaneous SD SDI downconversion to eight channels of digital audio through The Junction audio breakout box.
"The HD Fury can handle dual-stream HD as well as a programmable interface. This allows seamless updates to the card's features through a simple installer download for future enhancements such as RT colour correction. Put simply, the HD Fury provides the most versatile, cost-effective and best-image quality available on the Mac."
Key Features of the HD Fury include fully digital SMPTE 292/296 10-bit SDI input and output; real-time uncompressed 10-bit QuickTime playback without any kind of video compression; flexible operation in 1080i and 1080 PsF television systems; future support for 720p; and video genlock, which allows HD Fury to be locked to station reference.
The HD Fury will be available from the second quarter of 2002 from all Digital Voodoo resellers.
The product is bundled with Digital Voodoo's Media Transfer application and Media Transfer to permit the frame-accurate capture and insertion from and to an RS-422 controllable digital tape deck such as Panasonic's D5.
