Avid Develops MediaCentral Platform
Avid has announced the next phase in the development of its Avid MediaCentral Platform and the availability of new Avid Media Suite Modules that run on top of it.
New Avid Media Suite modules that operate on the MediaCentral Platform are now available to purchase. This includes the new Media | Director and Media | Index modules and Media | Distribute, accelerate production and distribution workflows.
The MediaCentral Platform provides the following shared services:
Media services enables customers to access and interact with media stored and/or managed by products connected to the platform. Users can stream audio and video content housed on Avid ISIS storage.
Connectivity toolkit - Customers can customise workflows by adding the tools and services they need to the MediaCentral Platform. API and SDK resources are currently available for Pro Tools, Media Composer®, Interplay | Production, iNEWS and AirSpeed. The platform will expand to include more third-party technology partners.
Orchestration services - MediaCentral orchestration services will take care of a multitude of tasks to boost performance and efficiency, as well as help customers make data-driven decisions about how to deploy and expand their platform.
New Avid Media Suite modules for the MediaCentral Platform now available to purchase:
• Media | Director speeds file-based workflows in reality TV, post-production and broadcast environments. Media | Director orchestrates the process of ingesting media into Avid and third-party production and nearline storage.
• Media | Index accelerates and extends file search and retrieval across multiple Interplay | Production systems. It can find clips and sequences instantly across multiple databases and across multiple global facilities.
• Media | Distribute (formerly Interplay Pulse) accelerates and unifies distribution of content to multiple channels and devices, enabling organisations to create content once and deliver to all selected destination platforms automatically.
