New Fujinon cine zoom lenses used in Star Wars: Episode III

Available from sole UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited are Fujinon's new Cine Super E series zoom lenses chosen for the latest Star Wars: Episode III feature film, being shot in Sydney.
The new HAe3x5 and HAe10x10 will be used for all principal and effects photography.
The choice of these lenses by Lucasfilm follows the success of Fujinon's Cine Super C series HA10x5 zoom used previously in the production of Star Wars: Episode II.
The HAe3x5 and HAe10x10 are designed for 2/3 inch format CCD HD digital video cameras to provide precise, aberration-free images for a variety of motion picture applications. They meet all moviemaking optical requirements including reduced fluctuation in angular field of view during focusing and in filming 'close in' shots.
Focal length of the HAe3x5 zoom is from 5 to 15 mm, whilst the HAe10x10 is from 10 to 100 mm. Both lenses have large 11 blade apertures, providing constant T1.8 performance throughout the zoom range. They feature coloured scales for the focus, zoom and iris settings, etched on both sides of the barrel for easy reading, and available in feet or metres.
Weight of the HAe3x5 is 5 kg, and the HAe10x10 is 5.5 kg.
Fujinon's DCS-1 (Digital Cinema System), which has accessories not previously available for HD production, will also be used in the making of Star Wars: Episode III.
