CKUK Studios link London’s voice talent

A 19th century coach-house in West London has been transformed into CKUK Studios, a state of the art recording facility specifically designed for voice-over work.
CKUK Studios is managed by CKUK Spoken Word, a newly established company headed by actor Christopher Kent, one of the UK’s leading voice-over artists. In parallel with a successful stage, screen and radio career, Kent has used his voice to great effect on countless commercials, documentaries, trailers and computer games. His impressive client list covers some of the biggest broadcasters and corporates in the world including Western Union, Cadillac, Lexus, Porsche, BBC, Channel 5, Masterfoods (Uncle Ben’s etc) and Bank of New York.
CKUK Studio features a large vocal booth that can accommodate up to four artists and a control room equipped with ProTools HD with 192 interface, a Digidesign/Focusrite Control 24 console, Neumann and Focusrite mics and pre-amps, time code DAT, CDR and Final Cut Pro video editing. The facility has been designed for both conventional use with an engineer/producer and an artist and also for Kent’s own projects. Everything is mirrored between the two rooms so that the operator can control both Pro Tools and ISDN equipment for wherever he is working. CKUK Studios also has an extensive sound effects library and works to picture via Quicktime movies.
High quality, fast turnaround and instant global accessibility are key to the way in which CKUK Studios has been designed and equipped. Multi-format ISDN (including apt-X™, MPEG and G722) has been installed to ensure that real-time recording links can be easily established with any radio station, advertising agency or production company anywhere in the world. CKUK has also invested in a dedicated ftp site, which allows for rapid delivery of multimedia file formats, usually within 24 hours of recording.
