Leading European Reseller And Camera Specialist Puts Faith In Blackmagic

Blackmagic Design's status as a camera manufacturer has grown significantly over the past 12 months, with important television and film credits to its name. At NAB 2014, Blackmagic has built on this platform to deliver two new products that will broaden its appeal even further.

Paul Brown, sales manager of reseller Visual Impact, said: "Customers have been very receptive to the Cinema Camera and Pocket Camera series. Although a relative newcomer in the market, with URSA and the new Studio Cameras, we think they've delivered some great products. We expect these models to be very popular so we have placed orders for substantial units of each product line."

URSA is designed for professional film and drama shoots. Built from machined aluminum design, the camera is divided into separate DOP, camera assistant and audio engineer workstation areas so multiple crew members can work at the same time.
Innovations include a huge 10 inch fold out on-set monitor and separate 5 inch screen for settings, camera status and scopes. It includes an upgradable Super 35 4K image sensor with global shutter, 12G-SDI connections, XLR audio inputs with phantom power and dual CFast based RAW and ProRes recorders.

The Studio Camera is no less remarkable. It takes studio systems - complete with an integrated large bright viewfinder, talkback, tally and optical fibre - to a new level, and with a price point of only $2995, for theUltraHD model. This is expected to prove attractive to broadcasters, event companies and corporate producers alike.
