eMotion extends integration through Quantel partnership

Digital media management solutions provider eMotion have announced a strategic partnership with Quantel to develop an integrated solution between eMotion's MediaPartner Enterprise software and Quantel's brand new generationQ news server technology.
This collaboration will provide broadcasters with an end-to-end solution from ingest to archive and back again.
eMotion MediaPartner is a fully integrated, Web-based application that combines browser technology with the market's most effective and widely. deployed solutions for managing high-resolution film, television and photographic assets in a collaborative workflow environment.
The sQ Server is part of Quantel's newly launched generationQ News system, which incorporates a number of innovative technologies that simplify systems integration, offers total hardware and software scalability and dramatically reduces overall systems cost.
Utilising a customised version of MediaPartner Enterprise, the two companies will develop an integration solution that will provide news editors with instant access to archived material. This material will be stored in a StorageTek device with Flashnet as the HSM (hierarchical storage management) software.
The eMotion MediaPartner Enterprise system will be linked to the sQ Server via Quantel's enabling technology, Clipnet, which allows the fast transfer of native DVCPro or MPEG files. In addition to enabling faster access to archive footage and clips, the collaboration will also provide a means for companies that have more than one server at disparate sites to link the systems' archive materials, thereby increasing efficiency.
