Matrox RT2500 solution chosen by University of Leeds

Matrox Video Products Group have announced that the University of Leeds has chosen the Matrox RT2500 video editing solution to play an integral role in its Broadcast and Communication courses.
The University's audiovisual facility gives students the opportunity to experience a high-standard of professional video production - a crucial part in the preparation process for real broadcast and video scenarios.
Andrew Thorpe, the Technical Supervisor at Leeds University's audiovisual facility, explains what was behind the decision to invest in systems equipped with Matrox's RT2500 real-time video editing board. He said: "We work with a very tight budget, and have to deliver value for money".
He also added: "We are delighted with the extra performance the Matrox platforms provide."
Prior to the delivery of these new systems, the facility relied heavily upon Pinnacle's DC30+ video capture board, but this is an analogue-only product, so a new solution was urgently required to bring the A/V department up to speed with current digital video technology. Given the amount of legacy equipment, however, it was key to maintain support for older analogue-only cameras.
