Azule Leases For America's Cup
Media and broadcast finance company Azule has announced it has invested £500,000 of lease finance in Amis Productions, the UK company that provided footage for the recent 34th America’s Cup
With the help of Azule, Amis Productions were able to invest in a range of cameras including: three Cineplex V14 cameras in the air, two with live graphics overlay and two x FLIRs on the water and one spare camera s – six in total.
The event saw a TV audience of over 250 million watching the final stages of the 34th America's Cup, and over a million people tuning in on the last night in New Zealand alone (more than for all the recent All Blacks rugby series).
Simon Aldridge, founder of Amis Productions, commented: "This 34th edition America's Cup boats reached speeds in excess of 50mph which is more than a two fold increase in boat speed that the chasing camera boats had to make up. This put huge loads on the boats and camera equipment, but even so we have managed over the entire America's Cup event since 2011 a staggering 100% operational capability with zero downtime. Thanks to the competitive leasing solution from Azule and the team’s proactivity and efficiency we’ve been able to produce the quality of footage we could for the event."
Peter Savage, MD of Azule Finance added: "On the back of our success at America's Cup we are getting new business leads every day. In a difficult lending market from 2011 to date, Azule were the only company that could understand the small risks and potential gains in our industry. We see Amis Productions as a partner in our business, helping us to grow our company by serving broadcasters and production companies across the globe."
